I am here with your annual fall pumpkin pie recipe. And this one is not only perfect pumpkin pie, but it also might be the easiest one you make all year.
But don't blink, because this comes together in about two seconds. Starting with, of course, a can of pumpkin. Next, a can of my favorite condiment, sweetened condensed milk. I mean, what's not to love?
Our spices: cinnamon, ginger, and nutmeg. That's all you need to get that pumpkin pie flavor. You do not need to go buy the separate little container of pumpkin pie spice that costs like $8.
And always, when you're baking, a little salt. And then, finally, two eggs. If only you could smell it. Told you it was easy.
Now, this goes into a store-bought or homemade — you know, I went store-bought — pie crust. And you don't want to bake it first; it's unbaked.
And the filling just goes straight in. Smooth it out. That is satisfying. If it has any bubbles, you can give it a little tap.
This goes into a 425° oven for about 15 minutes. Then we're going to turn the oven down to 350 and go for about another 40 minutes until it's just set.
It's called perfect pumpkin pie. Looks like perfection.
You must let this cool completely before we slice it. That way, we get that nice, pretty slice. Personally, I like to let it cool completely on the counter,
and then I like to pop it in the fridge because I like my pumpkin pie a little on the chilly side.
And to serve it up, only fresh whipped cream will do. Making your own whipped cream, obviously, is super easy. So, let's do it.
I'm just going to go in with a little bit of heavy whipping cream. Beat that up, and when it starts to thicken, I'm going to go in with some powdered sugar and vanilla,
just until it's, like, really soft peaks. That's what you want.
I don't like to sweeten my whipped cream too much because the pumpkin pie, or whatever dessert, is generally sweet enough. So just, you know, a couple tablespoons of powdered sugar is all you need. Let's serve it up.
The perfect pumpkin pie.
I like to top it with a little mixture of cinnamon and nutmeg. It looks like the emoji. A little whipped cream, a little pumpkin, a little crust. Perfect bite.
