Listen to a conversation.

W: Did you get into Professor Hall's statistics class? Registration closed yesterday.
M: No, it filled up before my time slot opened. I'm fifth on the waitlist.
W: Oh, okay. Have you looked at the statistics course in the psychology department?
M: No, I assumed only the math version counted for my major.
W: Actually, it's on the approved list. My roommate took it last year and got full credit.
M: Really? That would solve everything. Do you know if it still has seats?
W: It has seats this morning, but you should check with your advisor before you sign up.

Listen to a conversation.

M: I need to return this blender. It stopped working after only two uses.
W: Do you have the receipt? Most stores need that for a refund.
M: Yes, I kept it just in case.
W: Yeah, okay. Good, then it should be a quick process at customer service.
M: I hope so, I don't want store credit though, I'd rather get my money back.
W: That should be fine as long as it's within the return window. When did you buy it?
M: About three weeks ago, so I should still be within the thirty-day limit.

Listen to a conversation.

W: How's the new hire settling in? I know it's only her first week.
M: Pretty well, though she did say the onboarding paperwork took longer than expected.
W: That's not surprising. We still haven't switched to the digital system IT proposed.
M: Right, and no one walked her through the client account software either.
W: Yeah, that's on us. I'll set up a quick training session with her this week.
M: That would help a lot, she's eager to get up to speed.

Listen to a conversation.

M: Did you hear the elevator in our dorm has been out of service since Monday?
W: Yeah, I had to carry my laundry up four flights yesterday. It wasn't fun.
M: Do you know if there's an estimate on when it'll be fixed?
W: I saw a notice that said maintenance is waiting on a part, so it could be another week.
M: A week? That's a long time for something so essential.
W: I know. The building next door connects to ours on the fourth floor, so I might start using that elevator instead.
M: Good idea. I might do the same until it's fixed.
